RacetotheWH Forecast & Interactives
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer has proven to be an electoral juggernaut in every Senate election he’s run for. In 1988, he easily dispatched a sitting Republican Senator, winning by double digits. Since then, Schumer’s won every re-election by at least 30%. Republicans hope that they can make up some ground now that Schumer is the Majority Leader, and could be potentially used as a scapegoat for dissatisfaction with the direction of the country. However, it’s still going to be a real difficult election for Republican nominee Joe Pinion, a TV host that is the first African American to be nominated for a Senate seat in New York history.
RacetotheWH launched in the 2020 election cycle, and our forecast was one of the nation's most accurate. It called over 93% of races right, and was more accurate than all of its top competitors at predicting the final margin in close Senate races. We’re projecting the result for all 34 Senate Races up in 2022.
